The BENEFIT Leadership Ethics Framework

In 2026, the Alliance began a new initiative working on the BENEFIT Leadership Ethics Framework. The BENEFIT Leadership Ethics Framework project, introduced by the Social Innovations Journal in partnership with the Alliance of Leadership Fellows, is a strategic initiative designed to address a global “ethical deficit” characterized by rising autocratization, violent conflict, and stalled human development. Positioned as a “framework change”—the most profound level of social impact—the project seeks to replace transactional and extractive leadership models with a holistic architecture built on seven core values: Benevolence, Empathy, Nonviolence, Equity, Flourishing, Integrity, and Transparency. Over a six-month period, the project will engage scholars and practitioners through a series of six symposia and a dedicated journal issue to refine and apply these principles. Ultimately, the initiative aims to restore social trust and human dignity by establishing a new global standard for leadership that prioritizes the common good and moral imagination over narrow technical competence.
